Insurance Restoration

A contractor on the roof. A public adjuster on the file — if you want one.

Most outfits say they help with insurance. We rebuild. Statewide Adjusters, our affiliated public adjusting firm, works the file if you hire them.

Why this structure exists

After hail, fire, or a flooded basement, two clocks start. One is physical: water, smoke, and open roofs get worse by the hour. The other is the claim: the first written scope tends to become the settlement.

The carrier sends an adjuster who works for the carrier. You can have someone on your side. Statewide Adjusters reads the policy and argues the number. We put the roof on. Hire either, or both.

How a claim should move

  1. 01

    Inspect first

Walk the house. Photograph the loss. Get it in writing before their number is the only number.

  2. 02

    Meet the carrier

We walk the roof with them. Statewide Adjusters sits on your side of the table if you hire them.

  3. 03

    Rebuild

We tear off, dry, and put it back. You are not running three trades and a supplement.

Things Illinois homeowners leave on the table

Replacement cost vs. actual cash value

ACV subtracts depreciation. RCV pays to put it back. Which one you have is on the declarations page — and it changes the check by thousands.

Additional Living Expenses

Hotel and meals after a fire are often covered. People pay out of pocket because nobody told them to ask.

Code upgrades

A 1994 roof may have to come back to current ventilation and ice-barrier rules. That cost is not always in the first estimate.

Matching and elevations

Hail on the south slope is still hail. Siding bruises belong in the same file as the shingles.

This is education, not a promise that every policy pays every line. We will tell you what we see and what the form is likely to do.
